I am a girlie girl to the core. I love makeup, and really enjoy playing with new shades and products. When offered the chance to Bzz about Max Factor 2000 Calorie Extreme Lash Plumper and Vivid Impact Lipcolor, I felt like a fashionista at a really good designer trunk show… except that they are passing out garments (or makeup in this case) for free instead of at a discount! FREE is the best deal a budget fashionista could ask for! |
I had an important interview last week, and I wanted to look my best. Professional, yet not trying too hard. That was easy to do with my new mascara and lipstick. I received a red shade (Ms. Right), and a neutral more natural shade (Vegas, Baby). It was a no-brainer which to select for the interview. Yup: Vegas, Baby! Personally I am not a red lipstick kind of girl. With my pale skin, it is way too much. I tried it on, and quite frankly felt like I was a toddler playing with my mom’s makeup. That’s just me though. I think red lip color looks fabulous on my brunette friends. My BFF is going to love Ms. Right.
Check out my before and after pre-interview shots. In the first I have no makeup on at all, and the second features my new Max Factor look:
Before

After

I have to admit that the difference is subtle in the pictures above, but I guarantee you that my confidence skyrocketed, and I felt one hundred times more put together. The Vivid Impact Lipcolor went on easily, didn’t taste bad, and wasn’t sticky. At the same time, I felt like it was conditioning my lips. That’s probably because it does! With ingredients like chamomile, shea butter and cocoa butter, you can feel the difference. Still, I’m not a total convert. It’s a nice shade, and it definitely worked for the occasion. If I had my pick, I’d go with something in the pink family with a little shimmer. Vegas, Baby is a little too much like my natural lip shade. What do you think?
On the other hand, I loved the 2000 Calorie Extreme Lash Plumper on impact! I felt it really brighten up my eyes and separated my lashes. I spend a pretty penny on my makeup at a well-known department store makeup counter, and I have to say that this Max Factor “Lip Plumper” gives my favorite mascara a run for it’s money, or rather my money. Not only does it stay on ALL day without running, it costs about half as much at around $9.88 or less. I went to Wal-Mart looking for a coordinating eyeshadow, and I think I spotted if for a little over seven bucks. My only beef is that it is beast to wash off at the end of the day. Luckily I use some kick-butt cleanser that takes it right off, otherwise I’d be a sleeping raccoon. I just might have found a new favorite, and am now a lash plumping believer!
What’s mascara again?
